TBN Free Farmers Market

The Black Neighborhood has been providing free food services to Bay Area communities since 2016. We began by hosting monthly food giveaways every third Saturday from 2016-2018 in East Oakland, California. With the blueprint, leadership and guidance of the late Mrs. Faye Lois Gabriel & the Feed My Sheep Food Pantry, we successfully provided food for over 100 families per month.

From 2018-2022, we transitioned our program from East Oakland to DeFremery “Lil Bobby Hutton” Park in West Oakland. This year, we are bringing our program to the community in North Richmond, California.

We offer the following: canned and boxed goods, produce, cereal, pastries, and beverages. In an assembly-line fashion, families walk from table to table, selecting the items they want. From there, our volunteers put the items in their bags and if necessary, assist them with carrying the bags to their cars or homes.
