Our Initiatives

We were proud to partner with Prospect Sierra Schools in 2023 for our annual Turkey Drive; we have been in partnership with the entity since 2020 making 2023 our 4th collaborative Turkey Drive.
We provide 500 turkeys with 600+ bags of raw food items to 500+ families each year. The purpose of the Turkey Drive is to provide Thanksgiving meals to families who may not have them otherwise. The food bags are filled with: fresh produce, rice, macaroni and cheese, and a variety of canned goods.

On December 17th, TBN partnered with STASHED to donate shoes and toys to children in need .All collected items were donated and distributed at the low income housing building in San Francisco, CA.

Our DV Prevention is a dedicated initiative committed to fostering awareness, providing support, and preventing domestic violence within our black communities. At the core of our program are empowering workshops, talk circles, and a wealth of resources designed to break the cycle of abuse and promote healthier relationships.

Education is a powerful tool for change. Our Scholarship Fund aims to remove barriers to education, providing financial support to deserving young black individuals pursuing higher learning. Every dollar donated helps us create a pathway to success for aspiring scholars.

Investing in the next generation is at the heart of our Youth Empowerment Program. Through mentorship, educational support, and skill-building activities, we empower young minds to realize their full potential and become leaders of tomorrow.

In partnership with nature, we embark on monthly Mental Health Hikes— In the peak of the pandemic we realized that mental health plummeting especially in the black community. With the help of concerned communities, we designed a program to promote well-being and mental health. Join us att every hike as we explore the healing power of the outdoors, fostering a sense of community and resilience.

Community is at the core of our mission. TBN Socials are vibrant gatherings where individuals come together, share stories, and build lasting connections. From Game Days, Book Clubs, Happy Hours, and Kickbacks, we have something for everyone in The Black Neighborhood.

Access to basic living need like fresh, nutritious food is a right, not a privilege. At The Black Neighborhood, our community resources are not just random good deeds—they are expressions of our commitment to uplifting the community and creating positive change. By giving back we are rebuilding a neighborhood where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Join us for a heartwarming event that's all about giving back! The TBN team will be distributing free donated food to the community, providing essential nourishment to those in need. Mental Health Hike #31

We began our hikes as a way to provide safe spaces for black people to practice mental mindfulness and connect more with nature. Join Us on our next hike on April 14, 2024 at Tilden Park Little Farms, 1500 Central Park Drive, Berkeley, California 94708. Hike begins at 9:30 AM.
