An authentic visionary and steadfast leader, Cory Elliott seamlessly weaves his roots in Richmond, CA, with an unwavering commitment to education. Cory has dedicated his life to fostering the sustainability, inspiration, and pure love of the black community. His journey as a community influencer and dedicated advocate traces back to his formative years. Guided by an innate leadership, Cory possesses an unyielding determination for nothing short of success. Holding a Bachelor’s Degree from Howard University and a Master's Degree from Relay Graduate School of Education in New York City, Cory's fervor for empowering individuals and communities radiates.
Cory started his professional career as a classroom teacher, finding a passion for students within the special education department. This experience further fueled his commitment to education, ultimately leading to the co-founding of The Black Neighborhood. In his role as the President & CEO, Cory's dedication to driving positive change is evident. Furthermore, he is the founder of Elliott & Associates Consulting Group, a pioneering community consulting agency committed to fostering resilient communities through empowered youth and visionary leaders. Their comprehensive approach includes youth development, violence prevention, intergenerational unity, collaborative community consultation, policy advocacy, strategic guidance, and consultant empowerment—each forming the cornerstone of their impactful initiatives.
In addition to his role at The Black Neighborhood, Cory serves as a beacon of leadership on the board of directors at Prospect Sierra Schools, where he guides the committee's development initiatives as the Chair of the Development Committee. His perspective is uniquely enriched as the sole alumnus on the board and the first alumnus to hold a chair position. Through his dynamic leadership, Cory spearheads impactful change and empowers the community he serves.

Vice President, Co-Founder
As Vice President of The Black Neighborhood, Uzo Nwadugbo is dedicated to fostering positive change and empowerment within our community. The organization, committed to aiding people of color in various aspects of their lives, stands as a beacon of support and growth.
At the core of his role, Uzo meticulously plans, develops, and implements policies and objectives that uphold our organization’s values and drive it toward its goals. With a profound academic background in Communication Studies from San Jose State University, he has honed exceptional communication skills, robust leadership qualities, and a knack for innovative problem-solving.
His upbringing in the city of EAST (lol) Oakland, California, shaped his perspective and values. Raised by a resilient single mother who tirelessly pursued her dreams, Uzo imbibed the principles of unwavering work ethic, humility, and discipline. These qualities are the bedrock of his approach to leadership and community service.
Uzo’s commitment to The Black Neighborhood is fueled by the conviction that meaningful change begins with education, assistance, and outreach. “To be the change you want to see in your community! Secretary, Co-Founder
Bryce Savoy, an Independent Rapper and Entrepreneur, hails from the vibrant city of Oakland, CA. His journey, a testament of resilience and empowerment, has been fueled by a steadfast commitment to his community and a passion for change.
In 2010, Bryce's academic journey led him from the heart of Oakland to Howard University in Washington, D.C. Graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Legal Communications and a minor in Spanish (class of 2015), he leveraged education as a stepping stone towards overcoming the adversities that often grip his hometown.
His global explorations, including an enriching four month stint in Barcelona, Spain in the Spring of 2012 for a study abroad program, broadened his perspective. Interacting with diverse cultures and individuals from all walks of life, Bryce brings unparalleled cultural awareness and empathy to The Black Neighborhood. Armed with these insights, his mission is to empower his community to unleash their full potential.
Currently residing in Los Angeles, California, Bryce passionately pursues his music career while diligently nurturing the vision of TBN. His story is an ode to determination, a melody of empowerment, and a testament to the transformative power of harnessing individual strengths for the collective good. Check out his work here.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more.Kimani Elliott is a dynamic young leader dedicated to community and family values. Born and raised in Richmond, CA, his journey led him to Howard University in Washington, DC, where he gained a deep appreciation for cultural pride and self-love within a community that celebrated black excellence.
Guided by the wisdom of his mother and grandparents, Kimani is a firm believer in the power of unity within a community and is dedicated to leading a life fueled by love. His commitment to uplifting others extends beyond The Black Neighborhood, as he also founded "Playdaate," a business with a unique mission - connecting adults to their inner child. Through incentive programs and immersive environments, Playdaate nurtures joy, creativity, and community bonds among its attendees.
In addition to his entrepreneurial endeavors, Kimani has made a significant impact as an educator. He started his eight-year teaching career as a 1st-grade teacher in West Oakland and later transitioned to a High School teaching role in Brooklyn, New York.
Within The Black Neighborhood, Kimani plays a vital role in overseeing various initiatives promoting community engagement and empowerment. His contributions extend to education through programs like the TBN Scholarship Program Fund,the College Readiness Program, and the TBN Book Club. His dedication as an educator, community leader, and entrepreneur makes him an inspirational figure, continuing to have a profound and lasting impact on those he serves.
